Jeremy Scott Ready-to-wear Fall 2011

This collection grabbed me at first sight! I love the fun colors, futuristic, Xenon girl of the 21st century if she lived in Tokyo vibe.
the hair and make up couldn't be a more perfect accent to this show.
Anything nostalgic i adore, especially when it take you back to either the 60s-70s, the 90's or as of late- the early 2000's bubble gum pop.
With that being said, the designer pulled lots of inspiration from shows like "Clueless".

"The more dominant [inspiration] one was the nineties. "I was thinking a lot about 1994: going to school, getting dressed up to go to parties, the enthusiasm I had," Scott continued. There was bombast to spare in his haute nineties—so joyfully vulgar you wanted to call it bas nineties—furry neon dresses in angora (a new material for the label), plastic jackets, and Manic Panic-ed pigtails. Scott mentioned Gregg Araki's Nowhere as a reference; Clueless was in the mix, too."

It's funny, I can recall countless times discussing with friends the way fashion recycles itself, and in that discussion, years and years ago we'd say how sloppy and unappealing 90's grunge was. Yet now it's one of my absolute favorite ways to dress to express myself (along with the 60s and 70s but i never discouraged those decades before). And only a few years ago, or less, I remember discussing how UgLaY the early thousands were.. with the stark silhouettes and for some reason i think big boas and glitter and board straight hair and pale blue eye shadows with either a very strappy barely there shoe, or a chunky platform in patent leather white.
Shame on me. I'm starting to really dig the 00's montage

these are my favorite looks from the Jeremy Scott fall 2011

Want.

Xenon. Am I right?

If these do not embody 1994 then I must be a loony bird.
amazing. would I wear them? I just might.

not sure if it is a two piece, but candy colored motorcycle jacket.
love.

I would love to wear this throwback shearling jacket with the bright yellow shorts.
this model however...

the epitome of bubble gum. fuzzy, pink, clear plastic. yup

id wear it

id wear it

sooo wear it

how I wish this gem were in my possession over winter. i LOVE itttt.

I love the whimsicality of Fashion. Some hate that runway can be so "absurd".  It is art and with art one should never set limits for their imaginations. Most people do not have the means or the interest to wear some of the more outlandish garments that runway usually showcases.
it's about fun! celebrate it!
